Two Chinese nationals have been charged with smuggling a dangerous biological fungus into the United States — one linked to billions in crop damage and classified as a potential agroterrorism weapon. The FBI, DOJ, and DHS are calling this a serious national security concern. The fungus, Fusarium graminearum, causes head blight in crops like wheat, barley, and rice, and produces toxins harmful to humans and livestock.
